The Jail of Unforgiveness holds more prisoners than all the jail cells of the world combined. Kind of a scary thought, huh? But it's true. Every time that we choose to not forgive someone for hurting us, we are literally opening the door to our own jail cell, walking in and closing the door behind us. We become the prisoner, not the one who hurt us.
How can you tell if you're in the Jail of Unforgiveness? Do you find yourself consistently feeling frustrated, angry or bitter at people or circumstances? If you do, you are likely a prisoner in the Jail of Unforgiveness.
The good news is the key of forgiveness has been placed in your hand.. Forgiveness is not saying that what happened was okay. It's saying, "I choose to forgive you and not hold you in my judgment." The question is, "Are you brave enough to choose to use the key of forgiveness and walk out of your jail cell today?
